CHENNAI: Four judges, including a Supreme Court judge, were trapped in a lift on the Madras High Court premises when power went off on Sunday.
According to sources, Justice Arijit Pasayat of the Supreme Court, his wife Subala Pasayat, Chief Justice of the Madras High Court A.K. Ganguly, Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court A.K. Dave and another Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Meena Kumari had taken the lift after attending a function.
The lift got struck midway near the first floor of the library building when power went off.
They were forced to spend about 10 minutes in there before security personnel and court staff manually lifted the elevator and opened the doors, the sources said.
